Perception and Reality – Contemporary Realism

Stockton, New Jersey, The Grist Mill at The Historic Prallsville Mills, Delaware River Mill Society, Rt. 29 N, Stockton, will exhibit a one man show opening on March 5th, 6th and 7th featuring the paintings of John D’Antonio. The recent work captures the artist perception of color and feeling. His work depicts pleasing subjects ranging from American landscapes to modern day Dutch village scenery. The 20 oil, watercolor and mixed media paintings by D’Antonio demonstrate his working techniques influenced by artists such as Thomas Moran and Wyeth.

JOHN D’ANTONIO (jpd911c@aol.com) of Titusville, NJ, known for the representational accuracy and diverse style with his subjects, his use of vibrant color, mood, attention to detail and bold skies to create a feeling reminiscent of 19th Century American and French landscape painters with a present day interpretation. D’Antonio was educated at Rhode Island School of Design, The Art Students League of New York and Lehigh University. In addition to this new series of paintings, several of his earlier works will be on display from various private collections throughout the United States.
