ARTIST JOHN PAUL DANTONIO INKS DEAL WITH MARIO NOVAK GALLERY
Artist John Paul DAntonio announced today that his work will have a permanent home at the new Mario Novak Gallery in Long Island City, NY, beginning with the gallerys Grand Opening Celebration on Tuesday, July 12th.
Selected as one of 12 artists out of over 200, Mr. DAntonios work caught the owner of the gallery, Mario Novak, off-guard as it seemed eerily familiar. Johns work is a lot like mine in the sense that he captures the detail and color beautifully. The only difference is that my work is photography and his is paintings. I have heard people say that you cant tell the difference as to whether his paintings are photographs because they look so real. That intrigued me, says Mr. Novak of his gallerys new artist client.
To that end, Mr. DAntonio has been commissioned by a private buyer to paint the Mario Novak photograph titled Cabo Rojo 2 (pictured at right). This new piece, which will be completed in time for the July 12th opening, will run as a limited edition as a partner to Mr. Novaks photograph as a suite. Both pieces will debut at the grand opening.
Mr. DAntonios work has won him praise from both critics and industry professionals alike with his hyper realism landscapes and related work. During this summer, the artist can be found at various events in the Hamptons in New York State, where he is donating several paintings for auction at charities. For the remainder of 2005, Mr. DAntonio will be making personal appearances and a national tour of galleries with a schedule releasing in September.
